The first game of the night saw the Bombers claim a 53-46 victory over the Oddities in an intense game, with both teams missing key players. Both teams brought determination and hustle, but the pressure was too much for the Oddities, with two of their players picking up technical fouls.

The Bombers set the bar in the first quarter, taking a 19-12 lead early. The floor was very quite for the start of this game - vocal Oddities playmaker Duggan was missing from their line up, which showed as Oddities struggled to make plays, and settled for feeding their big-man, Papaionannou. Despite drawing 3 fouls during the game, this only added 2 points to their total.

Bombers were also quiet without their captain, Percival in the game. However, it appears that they didn’t need their leader to secure the win in this game.

In the second quarter, the Bombers extended their lead to 33-24 at halftime. Quick drives from Putt, and the interior threat of Brotherston helps build Bomber’s lead, both players contributing 11 points to their team’s total.

Papaionannou of Oddities countered with his interior dominance; the only player to manage a double-double, with a game-leading 18 points and 11 rebounds. Defensively, Nkume of Oddities lead the charge with 4 steals.

The Oddities came out strong in the third quarter, outscoring the Bombers 15-14. Walker started to come alive, and showed his interior ability by adding 12 points from inside the paint - he has only managed 6 points in each his last 3 games so this is a 100% increase on his last 3 performances. The crowd is always behind the Oddities and Walker heard it tonight.

However, both Walker and Nelson picked up technical fouls for verbal exchanges with a referee. Nelson had a quiet night, adding only 2 points and 3 rebounds to the Oddities box score.

The Oddities had a chance to add an additional 10 points to their total with free throws, but could only convert 20% of them from the line. Compared to the Bombers who converted 69.2% from the line. Oddities failed to make any of their 6 attempts from 3 point range.

By the fourth quarter, both teams showed signs of fatigue; neither team were able to get a double-digit score. Bomber’s Gray added a solid 10 points to the total, along with F. Wyatt with 9.

The result of this game puts Bombers on a 2 game win-steak, and Oddities on a 2 game loss-streak. Oddities have a week off to regroup before their second game against Tropics, where they silenced critics with a score of 50-28 - Reigning Champions Tropics will not forget their previous performance, and will be coming back for redemption.
